The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship has confirmed a nine-round calendar for 2027, one more than this season. It opens at the new Tong Hard Enduro in the United Kingdom on 17–18 April and finishes at the Getzen Rodeo in Germany on 23–24 October, with rounds in Portugal, Italy, the United States, Sweden, Spain and Türkiye in between.
Each of the nine events was chosen because it can meet the standards set by the FIM and the championship for every class, from the world's leading riders to juniors, amateurs and the World Cup categories.

A championship for every rider
The championship's aim is a field that brings together established stars like Manuel Lettenbichler, Teodor Kabakchiev, Billy Bolt, Mario Román and Wade Young with rising riders such as James Moore, Ashton Brightmore, Toby Shaw and Thomas Scales. The Junior World Championship, and a calendar that riders without factory support can follow, are central to that.
The Women's, Senior and Youth World Cups introduced in 2026 continue in 2027. Four-stroke bikes will be fully included in every championship, alongside a dedicated 4-Stroke World Cup. Each category brings its own demands on the courses, from routes a 125cc bike can handle to challenges that are tough but achievable for women and senior riders.
Following the successful introduction of Stark and Jarv-e electric bikes in 2026, the championship is committed to welcoming more electric bikes, which, subject to FIM approval, can take part in whichever class, championship or World Cup their riders choose. HEWC aims to be open to every manufacturer and model of bike, from 125cc two-strokes to the Stark Varg.
The 2027 regulations are still being finalised with the FIM. They will set which race classes (Gold, Silver or Bronze) each World Cup uses, which rounds each World Cup visits and how many results count. Hixpania is expected to be the final round for the World Cup classes, as travel to Türkiye is difficult for self-funded riders, while Sea to Sky and the Getzen Rodeo focus on the overall and Junior championships.
Round by round
Tong Hard Enduro, United Kingdom. British riders including Mitch and Ashton Brightmore, Billy Bolt and Toby Shaw are among the sport's best-known names, and the UK is the championship's second-largest Instagram audience after the United States. The event is organised by Plews Tyres with Will Hoare.
Extreme XL Lagares, Portugal. One of the sport's established events, Lagares returns as round 2.
Wild Woods Stone Extreme, Italy. The first of two Italian rounds, at Serre di Rapolano near Siena, in Tuscany. The organiser is part of the Italian Hard Enduro Championship and promises a spectacular event.
Silver Kings Hard Enduro, United States. The championship's key North American event. Organiser James Stearns has grown it every year, and more entertainment and action are planned for 2027.
Forza Orza, Sweden. Forza Orza made its debut in 2026 and was a hit with Scandinavian fans. Its race week produced 325,000 engagements on the championship's channels, second only to the Hixpania finale.
Abestone Hard Enduro, Italy. Organiser Michele Bosi built one of the most entertaining courses of 2026, and a more established event team is in place for 2027.
Hixpania Hard Enduro, Spain. The 5 Elements team delivered the 2026 season finale, the biggest race week of the year on the championship's own channels with 33.6 million views. Hixpania is expected to be the final round for the World Cup classes.
Sea to Sky, Türkiye. With Silver Kings, one of the two rounds outside Europe, bringing a completely different setting to the championship.
Getzen Rodeo, Germany. The 2027 finale. Built around entertainment, it is set to decide what has become an ever-closer championship.
The Roof of Africa will not form part of the 2027 championship due to misalignment with the local federation.
“I have this goal to make sure the Championship and Hard Enduro grow to be the best they can be globally. We try our best to accommodate everyone and make sure this model works commercially. Nine rounds keep the championship sustainable, and we have listened to the teams and riders, especially on the logistics and stress of travelling between continents. We continue to acknowledge our mistakes every year, and try our best to mitigate them to a point where everyone is happy, year in and year out. I am excited to give 2027 another big push, and I hope all stakeholders benefit.”
— Ross Whitehead, Championship Director, FIM Hard Enduro World Championship
Head of Media Adam Nunn added: “2026 was a challenge determining if we were doing a good job, as we didn't have a secure base to work off of. From what we can see this year, round after round, more and more fans become excited about the Hard Enduro World Championship: the ups and downs of the standings, the inclusion of multiple demographics and territories, the epic roster of riders on the start line and the efforts of events to be premium and host us. Our goal is to assist the events, sponsors, teams and riders with their NIL [name, image and likeness] and help them identify their value, to ensure they can commercially sustain themselves for years to come.”
